With my wedding photography kicking off on 1st April, bridal photography and portraits will take centre stage whilst capturing all the romance of the day. It always appears that I focus my attention on my brides, and I do of course! But I'm quietly keeping an eye on the equally important groom and his groomsmen to make she he get's the photos he wants, of this special day. Parents too... they want to have the beautiful portrait of their nearest and dearest and their new husband or wife. So the group photos, or family portraits, are also important. No stone is left unturned and no one in the wedding party is missed - whether they like it or not (and when they see their portrait, they like it!)
This is me, sharing the wedding love! x
Usually it's a parent or someone close to us that takes the photo on the way to school or outside the front door in our shiny new uniform. Proud days for mums, dads and carers all over the place! Hopefully the photo was relatively successful with a smile instead of tears and with a bit of time to spare rather than on the hop!
I have to say, I am very proud to be taking the very first, 1st day at school photos of the children of so many of my lovely clients and friends. The first day of school is an unusual concept for children of 4 years old, do they really get it? One of my clients told me that the photo helped their child realise a bit more, that school was around the corner and helped build the excitement... thank you so much for that wonderful feedback, you know who you are ;)
Have a wonderful first day children! And don't worry about your emotional parents, they will be ok :)
This is me, sharing the love... xxx
This isolation business is making a lot of us have different feelings on being inside, happy, sad, anxious... you name it! For me, I feel very lucky to have my health and to be spending such quality time with my family, and also sad that all my wedding photography work has been cancelled, family photography and all corporate photography too. Of those, I feel mostly for all those couples who's wedding day's have been postponed!
So on a positive note, I'm very happy to say that my Family Portrait Drive By - Spring 2020 Memento project, has been bringing a smile to many local faces and to mine too :)
Vote for your favourite charity right now!!! On another positive note! I'm looking for feedback on which charity to support! So if you have a charity that is close to you right now, whether NHS or a local charity, let me know and for the one with the most votes, I will provide the just giving page for anyone to give a little something to, for the photo, if you have the spare funds.
Keep an eye out for my next route through Kelvedon and in and around Coggeshall.
Thanks for reading! xx
It's worrying to think about business survival and we hope that this craziness will end soon, but in the mean time, I'm hoping my profile photos and corporate photography are helping to keep these valued high street businesses, in the minds of our local public.
The flow of clientele in this busy salon made my photography job, not the easiest. Fortunately! the cheery Hair Lounge ladies had a great rapport and this could be seen in the moods of their customers. The light coming through the corner aspect of this salon gave me opportunity to use to the whole salon in a natural light. I even managed to perform some portrait photography of one of their youngest customers.. a gorgeous little girl of about 2.
Customers; mature and infant, sipped their beverages and chatted amongst themselves and to the staff... thanks for having me in ladies! Good luck with the coming months and look forward to seeing you open again soon!
My long time client Naio Outdoor Projects is one of these businesses, seeking ways to keep themselves in business and to help the virus war effort. After many years of commercial photography and aerial photography for these guys, going on sites to take photos and develop their website, they are now turning to sanitation and precautionary measures... they have their thinking caps on. And this is an amazing way to help business protect their workers which will intern, help support all kinds of businesses and maintain confidence for their clients and the public.
Awesome work Naio!! Continue to love what you do, more than ever!
]]>Like all of our High Street Hero's, Kelvedon King is thinking of ways to help the community and also stay afloat. Yesterday saw their doors open between hours of 4pm to 9pm to offer their customers some tasty food with the new option of delivery. I spoke to the owner of Kelvedon King the other day who told me, "we've been receiving a lot of calls everyday since we closed and I feel like I want to help our village because I know how it feels to be home for... how many days now? and nowhere to get food." So true... with people finding it difficult to get food, it's really important, especially for those who struggle to cook, to be able to access cooked food. Erol went on to tell me that when he first started in Kelvedon, people supported him, and how he feels it's his turn to help and serve them.
Most of us want to be able to offer help right now and it's the people and services like Erol and Kelvedon King that, if they are able to, put themselves forward and take a risk.
Well done Kelvedon King! Good luck and see you soon :)
]]>Corporate photography with these three was easy... a very cheery bunch, I did have a lot of fun :) The customers were incredibly accommodating, I felt like they all knew the staff personally and in fact, I could have been sitting in their kitchen with them, felt right at home! This is a family run business and it shows, all credit to them.
I'm a family photographer and a wedding photographer but it's my husband that is recognised more in this establishment - a Sunday ritual for him with our 3 year old boy, they buy a news paper and CBeebies magazine and go in for breaky and a bit of quality time. Who doesn't... a very pleasant place to be.
Look forward to seeing you up and running again soon!! xxx
Corporate photography in a busy salon isn't the easiest and so we took the opportunity when the salon was most quiet. Fortunately, the lovely staff of Lucinda Wildin Hair were easy to take photos of and so we managed to get some profile photos done before more customer came in.
Being a Kelvedon photographer, I have the pleasure to know many people in the village and have done a lot of pregnancy photography and new born photography, to which the lovely Lucinda Wildin can vouch for :)
Love your work guys! See you again very soon xxx
I do quite a bit of photography in Kelvedon but not usually in my beloved High Street. So this has been a real treat, to see behind closed doors the people I might only pass en route. Perhaps I need to consider where my accounts might be better placed?
Another great business for Kelvedon!
Most villages host a chain convenience store, but not many can say they boast an independent opticians! And for this friendly practice, business looks booming! I I had to come back twice to shoot my corporate photos, avoiding a busy waiting room and its waiting appointments.
I'm having a number of wedding photography enquires at the moment, with wedding season very close already for 2020, so as a local Kelvedon photographer, fitting everything in to my week can be challenging but I can always make time for the fun stuff :)
If you're having trouble reading my blog and checking out any of my Toni Howard Photography work, may be you need to pop in to Eye Syte and get your self some specs?
Love your work Kelvedon!
Today I am paying homage to our very own High Street Hero, Cottee's of Kelvedon. How lucky are we to have a butchers in our superb little village!
If you've never been in to this family butcher shop, make sure you make time to pay it a visit! You find ingredients that you don't see in your typical supermarket. Ox Tail for instance. Never cooked it before but it made the most amazing strew, delicious!
Part two of my High Street Hero's project, photography in Kelvedon and profiling the businesses which we are so lucky to have. So at Cottee's of Kelvedon, we were doing some more corporate photography and headshots, keeping it very much in line with what Cottee's do on a daily basis.
Usually I'm engaged in family photography or visiting one of my beautiful clients for my bridal photography and wedding photography business. So it's really refreshing to be out and taking my time in Kelvedon. Not just to pass by and say hi, but have a conversation and get to know people a bit.
Once again.... call me sentimental but I think we could be in the running for the best #TheGreatBritishHighStreet :)
]]>
But do we utilise the resources we have locally, enough? I don't think so? I try to get my hair cut in Kelvedon and buy some shopping and groceries in Kelvedon, but... what if these wonderful businesses one day, were not around? How I would miss them!
So through a bit of corporate photography and a lot of love, I am paying homage to our High Street Hero's! Starting with This wonderful business... #The Little Fish Shop
And who'd have thought that there was such a thing as #TheGreatBritishHighSteet awards?! I need to get my photographer hat on in the High Street more often, iit could be Kelvedon winning next year?!?!
]]>I would say that the men in our lives love it when we take the trouble to bring some sexy glamour to their lives. And they sincerely prefer to see their girlfriends or wives looking hot than a random model. But what I love to see probably more than these gorgeous girls strutting their stuff for their men, is that they are also doing it for themselves. The fun you ladies have while I'm taking boudoir photos! No one feels shy or reserved, boudoir photography is all about feeling the way you want to feel and being as seductive as you like.
Glamour and sex appeal is in all of us in one form or another. You don't have to be size 8 with DD boobs to be HOT in print. There are poses to suit all shapes and sizes. Being a female photographer, Toni Howard Photography can bring some fun and classy photography ideas to your boudoir. And it's not one look fits all: personality and individuality need to shine through to get that sexy look in photos.
C'mon girls, let's bring the sexy back!
